Holy week traditions in the town of Korčula – now holds the status of a cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia.

This news confirms the significance of the centuries-old tradition of the Korčula brotherhoods and the unique processions that take place before Easter.

At the end of last year, the Korčula Tourist Board, in cooperation with the brotherhoods, submitted an application and became a member of the European Network of Holy Week and Easter Celebrations. Membership brings new opportunities for promoting Vela Setemana on a European level and enables the inclusion of Korčula’s brotherhoods in international projects
